Mobile home breakdown
At 951 Mobile Home, we understand that sometimes it is necessary to breakdown a mobile home for transportation to a new location. Our team of experts is trained to handle this process with care and precision, ensuring that the home is safely and securely disassembled for transport.
The first step in the mobile home breakdown process is to remove the skirting from around the bottom of the house. This allows us access to the foundation and all necessary components for disassembly.
Next, we disconnect the electric wires from the junction box inside the home and tape up any loose ends to prevent damage during transport. We also disconnect the cross-over wires between the two sections of the home.
The water pipes, sewer pipes, and air-conditioning HVAC are also disconnected and removed from under the house. We take care to remove all of the ductwork from under the home as well.
Once all of the necessary components have been removed, we install wheels, axles, and a hitch assembly to prepare the home for transportation.
We then carefully remove the close-up from the inside and outside of the house, taking it down for future installation. We also carefully remove the carpet, wood or tile, fixing it safely away from the center to prevent damage during transport.
To breakdown the roof, we go up onto the roof and remove the cap shingles from the ridge. We remove the metal cap from the center and the drip edge from both ends. We cut through the roofing felt to expose the wood and locate and remove the fasteners holding the roof together. These could be bolts, lag screws, or strips of metal.
With the roof removed, we prepare to split the sections apart by dismantling the foundation piers. The home is then split using a roller system. We wrap the home with 6mm poly wrap and furring strips to keep the rain out and prevent any debris from running off the house during transportation.
